Newly duplicated lanes have been opened today on the Arcadia Section of the Goulburn Valley Highway. 

The Union has been lobbying for some time for the duplication of the Arcadia Section of the Goulburn Valley Highway between Seymour and Shepparton, an election promise made by the former Prime Minister John Howard.

Bill Noonan, Branch Secretary said “The duplication of the Arcadia Section of the Goulburn Valley Highway means a reduction in freight costs for transport operators and improved safety for the local communities living in that corridor.”

“The completion of this vital transport link in the Goulburn Valley region has been a major priority for the Union. We have been an active member of the Goulburn Valley Action Group, a group of transport stakeholders and community groups keen to the upgrade of this important road,” said, Mr. Noonan.
