Tim Pallas, the Minister for Roads and Ports, announced that $1.5 million of safety improvements for the Goulburn Valley Highway (GVH) and Broadford-Kilmore Road.

• sealing work on the road shoulder of both sides of the GVH, providing a continuous sealed shoulder from Seymour to Trawool;
• safety fencing on 3.35 km of the Broadford-Kilmore Road and 3.3 km of the GVH, protection from roadside trees and other objects;
• upgraded lone markings; and
• landscaping to improve amenity.

Bill Noonan, Branch Secretary, said “The Union is pleased that the Minister has dedicated this funding to the GVH and Broadford-Kilmore Road. It will improve safety and benefit the local community.”

Mr. Noonan said that Union members would also benefit from these infrastructure improvements, given the importance of the GVH as a freight route.
