Down syndrome awareness ride between Launceston and Rokeby to affect roads
Friday 17 October 2008
The Union has been advised by the Burnie Police Headquarters that roads between Launceston and Rokeby (via Swansea and Orford) will be affected due to a charity ride to raise awareness and funds to support families with Down Syndrome.

The organisers of the event intend to conduct the ride with as little inconvenience to the travelling public and transport workers as possible.  The riders will be using the following roads:
  • Friday, 27 November - Launceston to Campbell Town via Longford and Cressy
  • Saturday, 28 November - Campbell Town to Triabunna via Lake Leake and the Tasman Highway
  • Sunday, 29 November - Triabunna to Rokeby via the Tasman Highway and Acton Road.
Given the narrow and meandering nature of the roads in this area we ask that TWU members take special care.  Please advise your workmates of this upcoming event and the potential inconvenience on these roads.
