Changed Traffic Conditions on the West Gate FreewayFrom mid-March 2009, changed traffic conditions will be in place on the West Gate Freeway heading outbound towards Geelong. Approximately one kilometre of permanent concrete barriers will be installed on freeway outbound between Bolte Bridge and Todd Road.
The MInsiter for Roads and Ports, Tim Pallas, has announced measures that will require drivers to make an early decision on where they intent to travel on the Freeway. Signage will alert motorits to make a lane choice and to stick to it. The Minister belives that this measure will remove the need to weave and merge, ,making the Freeway safer and easier to use.

CityLink and Monash Freeway CLOSED in both directions on Saturday night:
- From 9pm on Saturday 21 March until 9am Sunday morning the MonashFreeway and CityLink (including tunnels) will be closed in both directions between Kings Way and Warrigal Road.
- The fully signed detour route will direct traffic via Kings Way, Princes Highway andWarrigal Roads.
