Leadership Training

Leadership Training has been developed to promote the Unions experienced delegates.

This training places a stronger emphasis on providing Delegates and OH&S representatives with the skills to show leadership in their yards and to increase union density levels over time.

After the success of the initial Leadership Development program, the TWU expanded the series to include a three-stage course.  Graduates proceed through the various stages of the Leadership Series gaining knowledge and experience in conflict management, negotiation and leadsership skills.

The second stage of the Leadership Development course has recently included presentations by Simon Overland (Commissioner, Victoria Police); Sam Soliman (Champion Middle-Weight Boxer); Stan Alves (former football coach, commentator); Phil Lovel (CEO, Victorian Transport Association); Kerrie Adams, (Trainer, Victoria Police Academy); Kate Palmer (CEO, Netball Victoria); Sharelle McMahon (Captain, Australian Netball Team); Matt Feutrill (YMCA); and Allan Jeans (former Coach of St.Kilda F.C and Hawthorn F.C.).
