The Victorian Government has released statistics that indicate the highest level of patronage since 1970. Passengers are taking advantage of the 16,500 extra weekly services added to the timetable by the over the last three years. 

 

The Victorian Government has poured $1 billion into improving bus services, SmartBus and freeway express buses. The Budget also earmarked $360 million for the Doncaster Area Rapid Transit (DART) initiative. This imitative will increase the number of Eastern Freeway express bus services from around 200 a week to 540 a week.

 

The Union, and its bus driver members, will continue to work closely with the Victorian Government to ensure that Victorians have a world class bus system and to continue to find ways to improve the working conditions and occupational health and safety of all members.
