Tiger Airways PilotsOn Tuesday 25th August the Transport Workers Union (TWU) held their first meeting with Doug Melville - Head of People and Culture at Tiger Airways Australia. The objective of the meeting was to introduce TWU Industrial Officers John Parker and Dissio Markos to management and to advise the Company that the TWU is seeking an Enterprise Agreement (EA) for Tiger Pilots in Australia. The company indicated that it intends to negotiate a Union Collective Agreement for Tiger Pilots under the new Fair Work Act.
Tiger Airways recognises TWU membership. To progress the EA negotiations, the TWU needs feedback from Tiger Pilots on what matters should be contained in an EA. The TWU has developed a Survey Form for Tiger Pilots to complete over the next few days. Please complete the form and return it to the TWU as soon as possible. A return envelope has been included with this newsletter and survey form. All pilots are welcome to complete the survey, including pilots who have not yet joined the TWU. This survey information will allow the TWU to commence work on a draft EA for Tiger Pilots.
In the coming weeks the TWU will convene a Tiger Pilots forum in Melbourne to discuss the results of the Survey and allow Pilots an opportunity to ask questions of TWU Officials.
If you have any questions in relation to joining the TWU ($9.50 per week) or the future EA for Tiger Pilots please don’t hesitate to call John Parker on 0402 039 203.
