Bill Noonan to retire as Transport Workers Union leader

In October 2009 the rank-and-file Branch Committee of Management elected Wayne Mader as Branch Secretary and John Berger as Assistant Branch Secretary.
Bill Noonan tendered his resignation as Branch Secretary to the Branch President and the Branch Committee of Management.


Bill served as Secretary from 1st March 1994, having joined the Union in 1964 when a truck driver at Caltex.  Bill has held the positions of Branch Trustee, member of the Branch Committee of Management, Federal Councellor and Federal President.  In 1974 Bill commencing a career as a full-time Union Official


As Branch Secretary Bill led successive rank-and-file controlled Branch Committee of Managements since 1994.   

Wayne and John are supported by a strong and united rank-and-file Branch Committee of Management and look forward to leading a dedicated team of organisers, officials and administrative staff.
