VicRoads Traffic Operations Audit Outcome

With a view to improving traffic management compliance, a VicRoads Surveillance and Audit team was formed to review and audit worksites to ensure they operate safely with minimal disruption to traffic.  
 
Some TWU Members may have experienced a site visit from VicRoads Traffic Operations Auditors in past months. 
 
Identified in the latest worksite Audits from July to October 2009, the main areas of non-compliance on the sites audited were;
  • Not activating / de-activating Memorandum of Consent
  • Gaps left within the multi-message frames
  • No Return to Speed in End Roadworks or No End Roadworks at all
  • No Pedestrian Care
  • Flags on Multi-message signage
  • Stop/Slow Bat use.
