The operative date for these rates is the first pay period on or after 1 October 2008 (which includes the 2008 $21.70 increase).



Grade 1 - $600.60


1.    Responsible for the quality of their own work subject to detailed direction.

2.    Works in a team environment and/or under routine supervision.

3.    Undertakes duties in a safe and responsible manner.

4.    Exercises discretion within their level of skills and training.

5.   Possesses basic interpersonal and communication skills.

6.    Must be competent to perform one or more of the following tasks/duties or a combination thereof:

- storing and packing of goods and materials in accordance with appropriate procedures and/or regulations;

- preparation and receipt of appropriate documentation including liaison with suppliers;

- allocation and retrieving goods from specific warehouse areas;

- basic V.D.U. operation;

- periodic housekeeping and stock-checks;

- operates company small delivery vehicle.


 

Grade 2 - $612.10

1.    Able to work from complex instructions and procedures.

2.    Able to co-ordinate work in a team environment under limited supervision.

3.   Responsible for quality of their own work.

4.    Possesses sound interpersonal and communication skills.

5.    Must be competent to perform one or more of the following tasks/duties or combination thereof:

- inventory and distribution facility control, including:

- licensed operation of all appropriate materials handling equipment;

- use of tools and equipment within the warehouse (basic not-trades maintenance);

- V.D.U. operation; - Operates 3 – 6 tonne truck.

6.    In addition to the above, may possess a duly recognized first-aid certificate.


 

Grade 2 (after 3 months) - $619.70

As above.


 

Grade 3 - $637.10

1.    Understands and is responsible for quality control standards.

2.    Possesses an advanced level of interpersonal and communication skills.

3.    Competent keyboard skills.

4.    Sound working knowledge of all distribution facilities duties performed at levels below this grade, exercises discretion within scope of this grade.

5.    May perform work requiring minimal supervision either individually or in a team environment.

6.    Must be competent to perform one or more of the following tasks/duties or combination thereof:

-    use of a V.D.U. for purposes such as the maintenance of a deposit storage system, information input/retrieval, etc.; operation of all materials handling equipment under license, where required;

-    development and refinement of a distribution facility layout including proper location of goods and their receipt and dispatch;

-    operates truck with a capacity in excess of 6 tonnes.

7.    In addition to the above, may be responsible for the proper application and maintenance of appropriate occupational health and safety standards.


 

Grade 4 - $656.10

1.    Implements quality control techniques and procedures.

2.    Understands and is responsible for a distribution facility or a large section of a distribution facility.

3.    Highly developed level of interpersonal and communication skills.

4.    Ability to supervise and provide direction and guidance to other employees including the ability to assist in the provision of on-the-job training and induction.

5.    Exercises discretion within the scope of this grade.

6.    Exercises skills attained through the successful completion of an appropriate certificate and must be competent to perform one or more of the following tasks or combination thereof:

-    liaising with management, supplier and customers with respect to distribution facility operations;

-    detailing and co-ordinating activities of other distribution facility workers;

-    maintaining control registers including inventory control and being responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of regular reports or stock movement, dispatches, etc.
