The Owner Driver Information booklet is an important source of basic information for owner drivers. The information contained in the booklet includes how to run a successful business, ensuring all costs are accounted for in quoting for work and ensuring contracts are properly negotiated.

The new Act requires that owner drivers be provided with a copy of the information booklet at least 3 days before entering a contract where work will be provided for more than 30 days, or more than 30 days in a 90 day period. When combined with the requirement for written contracts, it is intended that owner drivers will have the necessary information on which to base important business decisions.
